Bu yıl 10 Mart Pazar gecesi düzenlenecek törenle sahiplerine kavuşacak olan 96. Akademi Ödülleri için geri sayım, bugün adayların belli olmasıyla resmen başladı.
23 farklı kategoride adayların yarışacağı 2024 Oscarları'nda, Christopher Nolan'ın Oppenheimer'ı 13 adaylık elde ederek zirvede yer alan film oldu. Onu, Yorgos Lanthimos'un Poor Things'i 11, Martin Scorsese'nin Killers of the Flower Moon'u 10 ve Greta Gerwig'in Barbie'si 8 adaylıkla takip etti.
Bu dört film ayrıca; American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, The Holdovers, Maestro, Past Lives ve The Zone of Interest filmleriyle birlikte "En İyi Film" Oscar'ı için mücadele verecek.
Killers of the Flower Moon'daki performansıyla "En İyi Kadın Oyuncu" kategorisi adayları arasında yer alan Lily Gladstone, adaylık alan ilk Amerikan yerlisi oyuncu olarak tarihe geçti. Ayrıca filmin usta yönetmeni Martin Scorsese de onuncu "En İyi Yönetmen" Oscar adaylığını alarak bu kategoride hayatta olan yönetmenler arasında en fazla adaylık alan yönetmen olarak bir diğer tarihe geçen isim oldu.
Adaylar arasında bizim açımızdan dikkat çeken bir diğer yapım ise yönetmen İlker Çatak'ın The Teachers' Lounge / Öğretmenler Odası filmi oldu. Almanya'nın "En İyi Yabancı Film" Oscar adayı olan film, kısa listenin ardından son 5 aday arasına da kalarak şimdiden önemli bir başarı elde etti. Umarız Çatak'ın filmi, güçlü rakiplerini alt ederek bu kategoride Oscar'ı kucaklayan film olur.
