The daughter's first birthday, and everything has to be perfect: the dresses fit, the garden gleams. But behind the façade, things are crumbling. For weeks, Ana has planned this party as if it could save her from her own exhaustion. A feminist commentary on the patriarchal conventions of the new-old upper class: as neatly pressed on the outside as it is sour-tempered underneath.
